PDO threads are made from polydioxanone, a biocompatible material that has been safely used in medicine for many years, including in surgical sutures. During treatment, the threads are introduced beneath the skin using a very fine needle or cannula. Barbed or cogged PDO threads are positioned within the subcutaneous tissue and anchored to supportive facial structures.
